US House of Representatives committee calls for the impeachment of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Committee voted to move the articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas (to a vote) The resolution was supported by 18 committee members and 15 legislators opposed.
Republicans say mayorkas is guilty of deliberately ignoring border controls with Mexico. The Texas National Guard, deployed by Republican Governor Greg Abbott, took control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass on the border with Mexico earlier this week. The White House says Abbott's actions to protect the American border are dangerous.
