Baghdad is suffering from unprecedented traffic jams after the number of vehicles reached nearly 4 million. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani announced the start of implementing the first three projects as part of a major campaign he launched early last month.

The projects are the first of their kind in the capital since the eighties of the last century, according to the Prime Minister. Experts believe that the projects will only partially solve the problem of traffic jams in Baghdad, but will contribute to alleviating it.
