The attack occurred with the first food delivery in a month in this area of the Strip, affected by clashes. Growing famine alarm has accelerated international calls for a ceasefire, in an attempt to slow the Israeli advance and allow the release of hostages held by Hamas. In almost five months of war, the Israeli offensive in Gaza has caused more than 30,000 deaths, two-thirds of them women and children.
