Ron Harper was best known for playing astronaut Alan Virdon in the 1970s TV series based on the classic Charlton Heston sci-fi movie of the same name. Also worked on TV series 'Land of the Lost' in 1976, and appeared in 'The Tall Man' and 'Laramie' More recently, Ron worked alongside Ben Affleck and Kate Beckinsale in 2001's 'Pearl Harbor' film.
He was offered a fellowship to Harvard Law School after attending Princeton, but turned it down to pursue a dream of acting. He is survived by his son-in-law Daniel, granddaughters Ronnie and Harper and ex-wife Shirley.
