Lebanese border towns have been subjected to Israeli bombing for some time. The escalation caused the death of 216 people in Lebanon, including 161 Hezbollah fighters and 26 civilians.

More than 86,000 people have been displaced from their homes since the start of the escalation due to the war in the Gaza Strip that broke out on October 7. The Tire region has the largest number of displaced people, with more than 27,000 fleeing houses. Nearly a thousand of them reside in shelters in the coastal city of Tyre.
