Former Israeli soldier Alon Sahar is appealing against right-wing plans to take over the Gaza Strip. Sahar served as a soldier assigned to protect the settlements of Gush Katif - Gaza's main 21-settlement bloc.

He saw and experienced firsthand the price paid for clinging to isolated enclaves in the midst of a hostile environment. "They are taking advantage of our sadness and anger," Sahar says of the Israeli settler right, which he says has the support of 25 percent of the public.
