Vyacheslav Pshikhopov is the director of the Research Institute of Robotics and Control Processes of the Southern Federal University. The institute has developed Russia's first control system for a self-organizing group of UAVs.

Research institute specialists have also developed a group control systems for ground-based robotic systems weighing 4-5 tons. According to Pshkhopov, further autonomy can significantly shorten the cycle between detecting and hitting targets. Such technologies would allow the Russian Armed Forces to mine and clear terrain without any particular risks.
