High-level officials from related countries are expected to hold talks in France on the 23rd in order to negotiate a cessation of the ongoing fighting between Israel and the Islamic organization Hamas. The Israeli military continues to carry out heavy attacks in various parts of the Gaza Strip, and local Palestinian media reports that more than 60 people have been killed in the central and southern parts.
The Wall Street Journal, a leading American newspaper, has also reported that Hamas is softening its stance in hopes of helping to resolve the situation.
