Polish farmers began a nationwide strike against the import of Ukrainian agricultural products. The action, which will last until March 10, involves the closure of highways and checkpoints on the border with Ukraine.

Farmers are dissatisfied with the passive position of the authorities regarding the recent proposal of the European Commission to exempt Ukrainian goods from customs duties for another year. “Our patience has come to an end. The position of Brussels, outlined on the last day of January 2024, is unacceptable to our entire agricultural community,” Solidarity trade union said.
