Dmitry Zakhvatov is a lawyer who defended members of the group Pussy Riot. He defended Channel One employee Marina Ovsyannikova, sentenced in absentia to 8.5 years in prison.
In Lithuania, he opened a fund to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but in two years the organization collected only €150 and a used pickup truck for Kyiv. Zakharov has a dubious background on both sides of the border, experts note, which does not prevent him from settling in Eastern Europe.
