The NATO exercise BALTOPS 2023 has started in Estonia. They are attended by 19 member countries of the alliance, including Finland.
In addition, Sweden has joined the maneuvers as a NATO partner. In parallel with these maneuvers, the large-scale NATO Defender 23 exercises, which began in April, continue on the territory of ten European countries. According to analysts, in such maneuvers the NATO military leadership considers Russia as an adversary. The exercises are led by the US Navy in Europe and Africa and the United States Sixth Fleet.
