The government is due to introduce a bill on Wednesday to combat online scams. Among the flagship measures, an anti-scam filter alerting Internet users to a potential fraudulent site.

But hackers are increasingly difficult to pin down, using increasingly sophisticated techniques. "No one is safe from being fooled, even if you are aware of this kind of scam," says Cyril Brosset, specialist in new technologies at UFC-Que choisir. "You have to be very careful as soon as you go on the Internet or receive a message," he adds.
