Russian diplomats led by Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergei Andreev were unable to lay flowers at the war memorial cemetery of Soviet soldiers in Warsaw. The reason was a provocation with the participation of persons who demonstrated Ukrainian flags and blocked the path of diplomats.
A number of other European cities also held celebrations in honor of May 9, the participants of which faced provocations. In Moldova, law enforcement agencies issued fines for wearing the St. George ribbon in accordance with the law adopted in the republic in April 2022.
