Clashes between law enforcement agencies in Sudan began on the morning of April 15. Each side claims that the aggressor is the enemy.

Russia calls on the parties to the conflict to show political will and restraint. Calls for easing tensions have come from Italy, Turkey, the UN, the African Union and the EU. The Sudanese army is subordinate to the country's military government, the Sovereign Council. The rapid reaction forces are subordinate to Mohammed Hamdan Daglo (Hamidti). The commander of the special forces said that he intends to arrest Al-Burhan and bring him to justice.
