More than 14,000 people from sub-Saharan Africa have arrived in Tunisia in the first three months of this year. This is up from just over 5,000 in the same period last year, according to the U.N.

High Commissioner for Refugees. The increase in arrivals is due to a rise in the number of people seeking asylum in the country, which has a high rate of immigration from the continent. The number of asylum seekers is expected to rise as a result of a crackdown on illegal immigration.
