The Korean leader said boosting reconnaissance capabilities was a priority to counter U.S. and South Korean "threats" North Korea in December conducted what it called a significant and "final-stage" test of a reconnaissance satellite.
The agency said production of the satellite had been completed, but gave no details on when it was scheduled to launch. Kim's visit to the Aerospace Development Administration comes just days after North Korea tested a solid-fuel intercontinental ballistic missile that experts say could facilitate rocket launches.
