Strasbourg's Saint-Guillaume church has been at the heart of a controversy. In March, it hosted a show mixing pole dance with Pergolesi's "Stabat Mater" The show was a success, but the pastor of the parish received death threats.

The church has also hosted an inclusive branch that works to open the Church to LGBT+ people, a pioneer for other parishes.. In France, demonstrations in churches have been canceled following pressure from the LGBT community.
