According to Shen Jiwei's analysis, the geographical location of Weihui City causes water to accumulate.
Weihui City is located at the confluence of Weihe River and Dongmengjiangnv River. It is low-lying and belongs to the gathering area of water from the upper reaches of Weihe River. Once there is heavy rain and flood, it is easy to accumulate water.
In addition, the local rainfall in Weihui has been heavy since July 17, which has produced a lot of stagnant water.
From July 17 to 24, the average rainfall in the Xinxiang Hehe Gate to Weihui area was 550mm, and the estimated water production was 185 million cubic meters. A large amount of rainwater was not discharged enough to form stagnant water.
At the same time, the water level in the Weihui section of the Weihe River remains high, resulting in poor drainage.
According to Shen Jiwei's analysis, the water level at the Jixian Hydrological Station in Weihe has exceeded the guaranteed water level since 23:00 on the 22nd. The water level is still above the warning level and continues to stay high. As a result, the stagnant water in Weihui City has not been discharged into the Wei River smoothly.
The right embankment of the Weihui section of the communist ditch leaked violently and flowed into the urban area is also an important reason for the serious accumulation of water in Weihui urban area.
According to Shen Jiwei, the right embankment 1.1 kilometers upstream of Muye Bridge in the Communist Canal was overrun. It was successfully blocked at 8:58 on the 26th. During this period, the flood in the Communist Canal entered the Weihe River, increasing the Weihe River's Weihui section. The flow increased the water level; at the same time, part of the flood water flowed downstream along the dike into Weihui City.
Shen Jiwei said that the combination of the above reasons has caused serious accumulation of water in Weihui. The local area will speed up the drainage of waterlogging to solve the problem of waterlogging in Weihui City as soon as possible.
