The Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Ministry of Finance recently issued a notice that through the support of the central special lottery public welfare fund, 100,000 family care beds will be built for the disabled and some disabled elderly people in economic difficulties, and 200,000 people will be provided home care services.

　　The notice made it clear that the two departments jointly decided to implement the 2022 home and community basic elderly care service improvement action project in 42 areas including Xicheng District, Beijing.

The project funds will be used in the project area to build home care beds and provide home care services for the disabled and some disabled elderly people who are 60 years old and above in financial difficulties in accordance with regulations.

On the basis of the comprehensive ability evaluation of the elderly, for the elderly who are suitable for setting up family pension beds, the key areas or parts of their home environment should be adapted for aging and intelligent transformation, and equipped with elderly products such as walking assistance, meal assistance, and wearing assistance.
