Trump sues Hillary Clinton, others over allegations of collusion with Russia

Former US President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit today, Thursday, against his opponent in the US presidential elections in 2016, Hillary Clinton, in addition to a number of other Democrats, claiming that they tried to rig the election by linking his campaign to Russia.

The lawsuit includes a lengthy list of complaints that the former Republican president repeatedly repeated during his four years in the White House after he defeated Clinton in the election, and comes at a time when he continues to claim, without evidence, that his defeat in the 2020 presidential election by Democrat Joe Biden came The result of extensive fraud.

"The defendants coordinated with each other and maliciously conspired to weave a false narrative that their Republican opponent, Donald Trump, was colluding with a hostile foreign nation," Trump said in the 108-page lawsuit filed in federal court in Florida.

The allegations in the lawsuit include "extortion" and conspiracy to spread lies to harm him.

A Clinton representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The lawsuit seeks damages, and Trump said that he "had to incur expenses in an amount that will be determined during the trial, but it is known to exceed $ 24 million and is still increasing due to defense costs, legal fees and related expenses."

The list of defendants includes Christopher Steele, a former British intelligence officer.
