As the penultimate country in Europe, Sweden is now starting to vaccinate children from the age of 12, against covid-19.

The advantages outweigh the disadvantages, according to the Swedish Public Health Agency.

This is received with pleasure from infection control in the Blekinge Region.

During the press conference, assistant infection control doctor Olof Blivik showed statistics on the spread of infection, where it is currently most in the age group 15-19 years, and mainly among boys.

- I am positive that the age for vaccines has now been reduced.

One is to reduce the spread of infection in society, but also because many children become seriously ill, says Olof Blivik.

Planning is now underway for how, and where, the vaccination will start in November.

- We hope that we will be able to solve the task together in school, for the benefit of the children, says Anna Tegel, vaccine coordinator.
