Apple intends to provide a large number of new updates for iPhone and iPad devices with the upcoming operating systems versions, “iOS 16” and “iPadOS 16”, which the company is expected to announce. During the keynote speech at the WWDC 2022 developer meeting scheduled for June 6, according to a report by CNBC.

Changes made to the iPhone include updates to notifications, messages and the Health app.

Apple introduced new changes to notifications last year as well, including the option to group them together in a summary at a certain time of the day, and a new focus that limits the notifications you see during specific times.

Bloomberg said the messaging app is expected to get new voice features.

The CNBC report says that Apple will add new items to the lock screen with support for "unlocked" screens on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro.

This will allow you to see the icons on your iPhone even when you are sitting at your desk.

While at present, the iPhone screen goes dark when not in use.

Apple often unveils its latest iPhones in the fall, so it's a few months before consumers can buy phones that can use this feature.

The report also said that Apple will add new options for multitasking on the iPad.

Last year, it made it easy to run two apps side by side, but some people who want to do more with their iPad have always wanted the option of running more apps in different windows, like on their Mac.

Apple usually announces new software at this event, then releases a beta version for users to try before rolling out the final version to all users in the fall.

Bloomberg said the company may also announce new MacBook Air laptops at the event.
