The student, Amira Fares, obtained a doctorate in chemical engineering from two different universities, the first from the United Arab Emirates University, and the second from the University of Leuven in Belgium, for her thesis "Multi-stage modified Solvay process for carbon dioxide capture and desalination of brine water", and Amira is the first doctoral student You get this double degree at UAE University.


Dr. Amira Fares said, “I had the honor of receiving my PhD in Chemical Engineering from two world-famous universities, not one, under the auspices of professors from the United Arab Emirates University and the University of Leuven.”


She added: "The opportunity to obtain a dual doctorate degree from the United Arab Emirates University and the University of Leuven was a life-changing experience.
