On April 1, local time, South Korean Prime Minister Ding Shijun stated that he would introduce a "vaccine passport" containing records of COVID-19 vaccination.

He said that only by introducing a "vaccine passport" or "green card" can people who have been vaccinated truly feel the recovery of their daily lives.

Ding Shijun introduced that the government has begun preparations from the beginning of 2021, and has now completed the development of the smart phone vaccination system.

The system can confirm vaccination history overseas, but does not store personal information, and also uses blockchain technology to prevent forgery from the source.

The certification application will be officially launched within this month.

On the other hand, from April 1st, people who have had an abnormal reaction after being vaccinated in Korea can apply for one to two days of leave to their units without providing a doctor’s certificate.

South Korea’s Central Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters stated that since abnormal reactions generally occur within 10 to 12 hours after vaccination, you can apply for a vacation on the day following vaccination.

According to reports, the vacation is applicable to employees in social welfare facilities and health care teachers who will be vaccinated successively from the first week of this month, as well as police, firefighters, soldiers and other socially necessary personnel who will be vaccinated in June.

The government will also advise and guide enterprises and institutions to arrange for vaccinated employees to apply for paid vacation or sick leave.

At the same time, the government plans to amend the "Infectious Disease Prevention Law" to provide a legal basis for applying for vacation after vaccination.
