“On June 10, 2020, the dangerous traffic warning system worked on both aircraft - on S7 Airlines and Emirates flights,” RIA Novosti reports.

The company noted that the crews “correctly evaluated and competently worked out” the situation.

They said that all modern aircraft are equipped with a dangerous proximity warning system, which gives a signal in advance of a possible conflict, and if the situation worsens, the system gives pilots a command to descend or climb.

“Thus, pilots always have time to make a safe maneuver, even if the corresponding order was not received from the dispatcher,” they added to S7.

The company emphasized that every six months pilots work out actions in such situations on simulators.

Earlier, Telegram reported that two planes nearly collided in the sky above Rostov-on-Don, and dispatchers found the danger late when the planes were 150 meters from each other.

The State Corporation for Air Traffic Management of Russia said that such data is seriously exaggerated.

They said that on June 10, during the flight of the Boeing B-777-300ER Emirates, 300 km from Rostov-on-Don, a system for preventing collisions of aircraft in the air on the counter-aircraft Airbus A-320-214 S7, which was gaining altitude, worked.

The controllers turned their attention to the situation on time and instructed the last aircraft to change course.
