Ruler of Sharjah attends the first international forum for teachers of Arabic language
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, announced the launch of the second batch of the "Teacher and I'm Proud" program at the Sharjah Academy of Education in the field of early childhood education and the first cycle of teaching, due to its close relationship to building language and culture among sons and daughters.
This came during his speech delivered this morning at the opening ceremony of the first international forum for teachers of the Arabic language, which is organized by the Sharjah Education Academy at its headquarters under the slogan "Arabic is a future and an identity."
During his speech, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah stressed the importance of being keen on teaching the Arabic language to boys and girls, and developing its teaching methods and liking it for students, because it is the historical, cultural and scientific store for them, in addition to being the language of the Holy Qur’an.
His Highness indicated the importance of the Arabic language and its preservation due to its close connection with religion, history, culture and community affiliation, saying, "The Arabic language is our affiliation with this valuable religion. The Arabic language is the storehouse of our history, culture and science. To the far west, in a clear Arabic language.
His Highness addressed the reasons for the interest in teaching the Arabic language to young people since they are the future generations, and with it they will preserve their religion, worship and culture, stressing the importance of concerted efforts from all members of society to protect the Arabic language because this is a protection for religion and existence.
His Highness addressed a message to teachers, saying, "Our sons and daughters are in charge of your hands, so improve their upbringing and teach them the love of the Arabic language //", indicating the importance of the teacher and the teacher having a level of culture, literature and science in the Arabic language and its methods, and to understand that the child is young and not He knows some knowledge, and the home environment has an impact on him, so they should encourage him to learn Arabic because it is his language.
During his speech, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah pointed to the importance of reflecting on the various meanings and methods found in the Arabic language, especially in the Holy Qur’an, where there is no defect, repetition or copying in it. It is even if the scholars of the Arabic language gather, and it is a source of pride in it, because our faith, our Qur’an and the repository of our heritage and knowledge were written in it.
His Highness stressed the need for parents and guardians at home to follow up their sons and daughters, and to be keen to speak in a correct manner, recalling his childhood days, when His Highness’s father would correct words for him from the local dialect, and when His Highness asked him, he explained to him that speech must be eloquent, which is what Parents should have it so that they follow the development of the learning of their sons and daughters and work to correct their mistakes so that they master the Arabic language.
And about speaking the local dialect, His Highness said that it is an Arabic language, even if in some letters there is a mitigation, which is what some Arab tribes used to do. It has a shortage, and you will not find any invention or modern science, you will find words that fill that.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah gave an example of corn, where the West said that it does not split, but then they split it with the logic of science, but the Holy Qur’an preceded them in that, stressing that this is the reason for sticking to the language because of the greatness of the data it contains that includes everything that has passed and what will come.
His Highness concluded his speech by recommending that sons and daughters learn the Arabic language, the correct science, and to trust it, as it contains everything. His Highness wished teachers and teachers a prosperous future.
The forum was inaugurated with the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, after which verses were recited from the Holy Quran. Dr. Muhadtha Al Hashemi, President of the Sharjah Private Education Authority, gave a speech in which she welcomed the presence and honor of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to open the forum, pointing to His Highness’s efforts and follow-up to develop education and teaching And learn the Arabic language.
She said, "We gather today for the Arabic language, to confirm that we make the workshops of this forum a laboratory in which teachers present the best practices in teaching Arabic, and we attract a summary of these practices in international schools that share this forum with us, to confirm that we gather for the student in his class, as this The forum represents a link that takes the creative minds of our teachers and students to fly them to the horizons of development, within a solid strategic plan of the Sharjah Special Education Authority, inspired by the generous directives and the direct supervision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to advance the Arabic language in the educational field.
In her speech, she addressed several programs launched by the Sharjah Private Education Authority to develop the learning and teaching of the Arabic language, saying, “The most important of these programs is the “Teacher and I am proud” program within the Sultan Al Qasimi project for Emiratisation in the private sector, which was launched in the year two thousand and nineteen, and was presented in its first batch. The educational field in the private sector has teachers trained in Arabic and Islamic education, all of whom have started their jobs as teachers in twenty-three private schools in Sharjah.
And she announced an unprecedented step through which the Sharjah Education Academy is working on the Arabization of the postgraduate diploma in education prepared in cooperation with the University of Helsinki in Finland, to put its sciences and arts in the hands of teachers of Arabic.
The Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority concluded her speech with an inspiring sentence for the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, from her book “Essential Messages” in which Her Highness says: “If the student is the center of the education process, and the goal towards which education and training efforts are directed And awareness, for the teacher is the direct guide to the student,” from which the idea of the forum came.
The audience watched a visual presentation, which presented part of a previous speech by His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, in which His Highness spoke about the importance of the Arabic language, the beauty of its meanings and vocabulary, and the importance of learning and caring for it.
Dr. Khaled Abu Amesha, Academic Director of the Qased Center for Arabic Language Teaching, gave a speech entitled “The Challenges of Teaching Arabic in Contemporary Reality, Prospects and Ambition”, in which he addressed the importance of the great efforts that the Emirate of Sharjah is working on with its various programs to advance Arabic language education, which contributes greatly. in developing the levels of workers in this field.
In his speech, he stressed the role of the teacher and the importance of deviating from the traditional methods of teaching through creativity in means and practices that combine education, fun and enticing in language learning, pointing to the importance of having good training standards, how to teach lessons, providing the appropriate environment for the learner, application, and sustainable professional education. Dr. Muhammed Safi Al Mosteghanemi, Secretary-General of the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, presented a speech entitled "Our Role in Teaching Arabic," in which he addressed the importance of such forums in reflection, cooperation and support for joint efforts to develop solutions that contribute to the empowerment of the Arabic language and its speakers everywhere.
He pointed out that the Arabic language is lofty and stable despite the strong competition for other languages, due to its characteristics and advantages, which necessitates us as educators and teachers to endear it to our sons and daughters, and we are keen to develop their teaching methods for it in order to preserve it as it represents the affiliation and identity of the Arab community.
Dr. Issa Al Hammadi, President of the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Arab States of the Gulf in Sharjah, concluded the speeches of the guests of honor of the opening, where he delivered a speech entitled “The Role of Arabic Teachers in Promoting Arabic Education,” in which he referred to the continuous efforts provided by Sharjah to advance and develop the levels of learning and teaching Arabic for students. and male and female teachers, through continuous cooperation between the various institutions based on the Arabic language.
During his speech, he reviewed the great work that the center has been providing to develop curricula and skills for preparing teachers in the field of Arabic language, as important educational requirements that make it able to face challenges and provide the best performance that makes it contribute to developing students' skills and training them to learn and teach in the best ways and means.
