Putin issues a decree according to which Russia acquires the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant

Russia has formally taken over the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine, which it has occupied militarily for months, by decree signed Wednesday by its president, Vladimir Putin.

"The government will take care to integrate the nuclear facilities of the plant as a federal property," the decree said, while the Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, is expected to visit Ukraine and Russia soon.
