“During the investigation in the criminal case, in order to ensure the execution of the sentence regarding the collection of a civil lawsuit, a fine and other property penalties, the property of the accused was seized,” the ministry said.
Among the arrested objects are real estate, including residential premises, two land plots, a Toyota Camry and cash.
The total cost is estimated at more than 27 million rubles.
Novikov was caught red-handed on April 17 on suspicion of receiving a bribe. A criminal case has been instituted against him. The court sent him into custody until June 16.
According to investigators, Novikov demanded a representative of a contractor involved in the construction of the second stage of the residential building of the Tuima neuropsychiatric boarding school to pay a bribe of at least 12 million rubles for “patronizing the company's activities”.
