Two months before the election, Nicolas Sarkozy has still not announced his official support for Valérie Pécresse, the candidate of his political family.

In private, the former president does not mince his words towards the president of the Ile-de-France region, but speaks well of Emmanuel Macron.

Tomorrow, he will meet one-on-one with the candidate.

Will they be able to put their differences aside?

TO ANALYSE

Valérie Pécresse will meet the former President of the Republic Nicolas Sarkozy tomorrow.

The latter has not yet taken a position regarding his possible support for the Republican presidential candidate.

What are the stakes of this meeting, two days before the first big meeting of Pécresse at the Zenith of Paris?

Sarkozy had very harsh words towards Pécresse

The paradox of this interview is that neither Valérie Pécresse nor Nicolas Sarkozy really want to see each other.

But the two have no choice.

Nicolas Sarkozy had very harsh words about Valérie Pécresse: "Valérie didn't understand anything about the campaign, she goes all over the place, there is no dynamic".

These words require an explanation.

The former president may not appreciate it, Valérie Pécresse is still the candidate of his political family.

And on the other side, to listen to Nicolas Sarkozy, Valérie Pécresse did not treat it as it should.

He says it elsewhere: "She is clumsy."

The one who remains popular among the Republicans is certainly a former tenant of the Elysée, but he remains the last right-wing president to have won a presidential election.

A meeting at the Zénith de Paris to revive

So, tomorrow, we should not expect Valérie Pécresse to snatch support from Nicolas Sarkozy, who moreover speaks well of Emmanuel Macron in private.

But, the two will have at least spoken to each other.

After this meeting, the right-wing candidate intends to turn the page on the controversy and focus on her first big meeting next Sunday at the Zenith in Paris to allow her to revive.

The president of the Ile-de-France region has just suffered another setback: the rallying of Eric Woerth to Emmanuel Macron.

She therefore wants to show that she keeps her head up and does not let herself be destabilized...
