President Moon Jae-in rebuked the police over the controversy over the police's poor response to the Incheon knife riot incident, saying, "The impossible has happened."

President Moon said, "The highest duty of the police is to protect the lives of citizens and promote safety," Blue House spokesman Park Kyung-mi said in a briefing.

He added, "This is not a matter of male and female police officers."

Although he was criticized for the police's poor response, he was wary of turning this issue into a gender conflict.

In addition, President Moon also instructed "to strengthen education and training and to improve the system so that something like this does not happen again."

Earlier, on the 15th, a knife riot broke out in a villa in Namdong-gu, Incheon, due to noise between floors, and when it became known that a policewoman who was dispatched at the time left the scene for reasons such as requesting emergency assistance, the police response was criticized for poor response.
