Dresden (dpa / sn) - With a large contingent, the police enforced a demonstration ban for "lateral thinkers" in Dresden on Saturday.
Officials were present everywhere on squares and streets in the city center, streets around the state parliament were closed.
Water cannons were ready just in case.
According to the police, the situation remained relaxed until late afternoon.
In the event of inconsistent weather with several downpours, only a few people were out anyway.
A group of eight people were sent off below the Japanese Palace because they had not complied with the corona requirements.
This later also affected a group of 22 cyclists who were attributed to the critics of Corona measures.
In Dresden, demos of the “lateral thinking 351” initiative are regularly registered.
This wants to protest against the corona measures.
As in the past, the city banned the rallies on Saturday with reference to the risk of infection and previous appearances by the "lateral thinkers".
The vast majority of the participants had demonstratively disregarded hygiene rules.
The Dresden Administrative Court and the Bautzen Higher Administrative Court confirmed the renewed ban on meetings.
Independently of this, the police had prepared for an operation.
In March, despite a ban, hundreds of “lateral thinkers” roamed the city center.
There were riots in which twelve officers were injured.

As the Dresden police headquarters announced on Saturday afternoon, more than 1000 officers from Saxony and Brandenburg as well as from the federal police and the Saxon riot police were on duty.
"In the coming hours, police officers will continue to be present in the city and ensure compliance with the corona rules," it said.
The Dresden police are facing another large-scale operation on Sunday.
Then third division soccer team Dynamo Dresden will have their last home game of the season against Türkgücü Munich.
If they win, Dynamo could advance to the 2nd Bundesliga.
The police therefore fear a crowd of fans in front of the stadium and want to cordon off a large area.
The football club also appealed to the fans to stay at home.
