Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The “Child Abuse Investigative Committee” of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament continues today to hear witnesses.

The incumbent district administrator of the Höxter district and his predecessor in office have been invited.

Since the summer of 2019, the committee of inquiry has been trying to shed light on how the hundredfold abuse of children on a campsite in Lügde in Lippe could come about without the authorities becoming aware of the criminal activity.

The focus is on the suffering of a little girl who was given to the campsite by the youth welfare office in Hameln, Lower Saxony, as a pedagogue criminal - sentenced to a long prison term in 2019.

The district administrators were the heads of the authorities concerned with the issue.
