However, because the epidemic in Japan has not been effectively controlled, the Japanese government announced on July 8 that Tokyo has entered a state of emergency for the fourth time from July 12 to August 22.

As a result, the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee adjusted the number of participants in the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics, from 10,000 to 950.

The number of people may still be further reduced in the future.
