Mohamed bin Zayed discusses with the President of the Libyan Presidential Council bilateral relations and developments in the political process in Libya

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, affirmed the UAE's firm position towards supporting brotherly Libya and achieving the aspirations of its people towards stability, development and unity.

This came when His Highness received today - at Al Shati Palace - Dr. Muhammad Younis Al Manfi, President of the Presidential Council in Libya, who is on a visit to the United Arab Emirates.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness welcomed Dr. Muhammad Al-Manfi and wished him success with his brothers in the Presidential Council and the Government of National Unity in leading their country to safety. He conveyed to him the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, "may God protect him" and his wishes for sisterly Libya and its people Peace and stability.

The discussions dealt with bilateral relations and ways to enhance them in various fields, in addition to the developments of the political process in Libya and efforts to push it forward, as well as a number of issues of common concern.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed the readiness of the United Arab Emirates to provide all aspects of support and cooperation to overcome existing challenges, and to continue working with regional and international parties to strengthen the pillars of peace and stability in accordance with the aspirations of the brotherly Libyan people.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad Al-Manfi, Chairman of the Presidential Council in Libya, thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the positive positions of the UAE in supporting Libya and its people, and its support for it in international forums.

He also expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality, stressing the depth of relations between the UAE and Libya and looking forward to further strengthening and developing these relations during the coming period for the benefit of the two countries and their brotherly peoples.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Airports Company, His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State, and His Excellency Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council and His Excellency Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under-Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court.

On the Libyan side, it was attended by Naglaa Mohammed Al-Manqoush, Minister of Foreign Affairs and a number of Libyan officials accompanying the President of the Presidential Council.
