Controversy over a gymkhana for young people organized by the City Council of Vilassar de Mar (Barcelona) on July 22.
Some of the tests, such as placing condoms on a stick, licking bananas, making penises or vaginas with plasticine or reproducing Kamasutra postures have generated outrage in the parents of the participants who are considering denouncing the Consistory before the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office.
From the City Council they defend themselves and assured that there was a "communication error" since the adolescents asked to have tests related to sexuality in this nocturnal gymkhana but that "detailed activities were not reported and this has generated discomfort and inconvenience in some families".
The tests were organized by the Department of Youth within the events of the Juliol Jove of the Can Jorba space and the City Council announced that "it will take measures so that future activities are disseminated with the most detailed information possible. They report that the gymkhana focused "on treating health and sexuality issues" because in the Council of Adolescents they stated that it is an issue that interests them.
In this sense, the Consistory recalls that adolescents of 11, 12 and 13 years old watch pornographic content and build an image of sexuality from it, for which reason the youth space is trying to "break this dynamic by being open to talking about these issues so that they can share them with adults and try to prevent them from building a sexual imaginary with sexist, violent and unhealthy attitudes".
For this reason, they stressed that 8 groups of 6 to 10 people participated in the gymkhana and that they were monitored by people who "knew the pedagogical aspect of each test and who had the task of adapting it to the age range of each group, being very flexible and taking care with the younger ones".
Among them were many children between the ages of 11 and 12.
The City Council promised to continue with these activities "in a transparent and open way and improving communication" to avoid controversy with parents like the ones that happened after last week's gymkhana, since tests such as putting on a condom did not sit well with their mouths on a stick, licking a banana smeared with cream and honey or reproducing postures from the Kamasutra.
That is why some families want to file a complaint, according to La Vanguardia.
In addition, they point out that the Consistory allowed the dissemination of photographs on social networks without consent.
The mother of a girl who participated in the tests tells 'La Vanguardia' that in one of them the girls "had to stand on the wall with their ass in pomp and a boy had to stand behind, with a balloon in the middle that they had to burst with this posture".
