It is expected that discussions on nuclear power will become more active between the ruling and opposition parties in the future.

The government is reviewing the "Basic Energy Plan" once every three years, and one of the focal points is the positioning of nuclear power generation toward the realization of a carbon-free society.



Under these circumstances, the LDP Secretary-General Hosoda served as chairman, and the Parliamentary League, which aims to promote a stable supply of electricity, has put together a proposal that includes the utilization of nuclear power plants.



Among them, nuclear power is indispensable for the realization of a carbon-free society, and it is necessary to increase the ratio of nuclear power, which is 20% to 22% in the power source composition in 2030 in the current plan.

In addition to the construction and expansion of nuclear power plants with improved safety, we are also demanding more efficient examinations for the restart of nuclear power plants.



Within the Liberal Democratic Party, there are movements toward the utilization of nuclear power plants, such as the establishment of another parliamentary federation to promote the construction of new nuclear power plants with the participation of former Prime Minister Abe this month.
