Schwerin (dpa / mv) - Several dozen landlords of holiday accommodation had filed an application against the corona-related ban on accommodation in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at the Higher Administrative Court in Greifswald in March - now, according to the lawyer in charge, Katja Kleist, it has been rejected.
Kleist said on Sunday that she was verbally informed by the OVG on Friday.
A written communication had been announced to her for the coming week.
The court could not initially be reached for confirmation.
One of the plaintiffs, Oliver Roeber from the “Kutscherhaus” in Sassnitz on Rügen, described the entry and accommodation bans in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as excessive. While restaurants and hotels reopened in almost all federal states, people in the north-east of the republic have fallen into a "paralysis". The federal emergency brake provides for the opening of hotels and holiday apartments below the seven-day incidence of 100. Daniel Rousta from the association of owners of holiday apartments and holiday homes accuses the state government of having drawn an "anti-tourism protective wall" around the country's borders.
The nationwide seven-day incidence of new corona infections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has been below the important value of 100 since Thursday.On the weekend, this also applied to all coastal districts of Western Pomerania-Rügen, Rostock and Northwest Mecklenburg as well as the cities of Rostock and Schwerin.
In Western Pomerania-Rügen the incidence was even below 50.
