Kiel (dpa) - The Bundesliga handball players at THW Kiel have done their duty with hard work and are back at the top of the table for at least one night.

The German record champions won their home game against TVB Stuttgart on Holy Saturday with 33:28 (16:15).

But on Sunday the zebras could be pushed back from first place by their north rivals SG Flensburg-Handewitt.

The best throwers from Kiel were Domagoj Duvnjak and Sander Sagosen with six goals each, Jerome Müller scored seven goals for the TVB.

Viggo Kristjansson brought the Swabians, who had to play without the international goalkeeper Johannes Bitter, who had an operation on his knee, 1-0 lead.

After that, the people from Kiel took over the command, but without clearly breaking away from the guests.

The lead before the break was not greater than three goals.

Even after the break, the guests, with whom the only 17-year-old Fynn-Luca Nicolaus showed a strong performance in defense, did not let themselves be left behind.

But when the TVB acted with the seventh field player, Duvnjak and Patrick Wiencek increased with hits in the empty goal to 21:19 (41st).

The preliminary decision for the twelfth victory in Kiel in the twelfth duel with the TVB was then 31:28 by Sagosen in the 58th minute.
