The Russian volleyball players, under a neutral flag, qualified for the final of the Olympic Games by eliminating the defending Brazilians in the semi-finals, 3 sets to 1 (18-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-23 ), Thursday in Tokyo.
In the final on Saturday, they will play for the gold medal against Argentina or France, who face each other in the evening in Tokyo (9:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. French) in the second semi-final.
Present in the semi-finals of the Games non-stop since the Atlanta Games in 1996, Russia will try to win a second Olympic title after the coronation of London in 2012 (the USSR won the Olympic tournaments in 1964, 1968 and 1980) .
The Brazilians will have to be content with the match for the bronze medal, they who had not missed the grand Olympic final since the Athens Games in 2004 (gold in 2004 and 2016, silver in 2008 and 2012).
