Meppen (AP) - FC Ingolstadt has missed the leap to the top of the table in the 3rd soccer league.

Head coach Tomas Oral's team lost at the end of the 13th matchday on Monday evening against SV Meppen with 0: 2 (0: 2).

Luka Tankulic brought the outsider, trained by Torsten Frings, into the lead in the 4th minute, while ex-Hannover 96 professional Valdet Rama got the final score before half-time (23rd).

With a win, the third-placed FCI (23 points) would have overtaken the top duo Dynamo Dresden and 1. FC Saarbrücken (both 25).

Despite the success, Meppen remains bottom of the table (9), but has only played ten games due to a total of three game cancellations due to corona.
