Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Four of the five Hamburg men's teams can plan for the quarter-finals in the field hockey Bundesliga.

The club on the Alster secured its place among the top four of the A season on its own as currently fourth place with victories against the Crefelder HTC (3: 2) and Uhlenhorst Mülheim (2: 1).

Also qualified are the Uhlenhorster HC in second place and the Harvestehuder THC in third place.

The Hamburg Polo Club is fighting after the 1: 1 (0: 0) in the last second against the Mannheimer HC and the 3: 2 (0: 0) against the TSV Mannheim in the coming week in a direct duel with the Berlin HC for third place in the B season.

With a win, the team of coach Matthias Witthaus would avoid the clash with Mülheim in the round of the best eight clubs.

In the women's category, the defending champion Club an der Alster showed that they had recovered well after their disappointing fourth place in the European Cup on the Easter weekend.

On Saturday, the team of coach Jens George celebrated a 9-0 (3-0) win over the bottom Zehlendorfer Wespen.

"I wanted the girls to leave the pitch with a smile on their faces today and not indulge in failure," said George.

Followers Uhlenhorster HC, on the other hand, lost in the top game of the A-season against leaders Düsseldorfer HC 0: 1 (0: 0).
