The Montpellier handball players managed to win at Tremblay (31-30) late Saturday afternoon on behalf of the 9th day of the French Championship, and go up to 3rd place in the standings.

Montpellier has ten points after six matches (four wins and two draws), one point less than Limoges (three more matches on the clock) and six less than Paris SG, Starligue leader with eight wins in as many matches. played, whose match against Chartres scheduled for Saturday has been postponed.

The Starligue season is heavily disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, with many matches postponed.

Of the 72 matches scheduled for the first nine days, 54 have been played so far.

On Saturday, Patrice Canayer's players missed their first period, being four goals behind against Tremblay (16-12) at the break.

They experienced a big slump of ten minutes after the first quarter of an hour of play, going from a lead of two goals (10-8) to a delay of four goals (15-10).

"In the first half, the problem was not even tactical, in terms of the commitment and the state of mind, there was no picture between the two teams, it was visible on the bench and on the ground. We were able to recover in the second half, "commented Yanis Lenne, right winger from Montpellier, at the microphone of the NHL.

In the second half, the Hérault residents were able to get back in front thanks to Lenne (7 goals) and Valentin Porte (6 goals), both 100% shooting.

They thus avoid a second consecutive poor performance in the Championship, after the draw conceded last week at home against Cesson-Rennes (28-28).

For its part, Nîmes won without problem Ivry (33-25), and has nine points on the clock in eight matches played.
