“On September 29, the multi-purpose frigate of the French Navy Normandie and its Caiman helicopter, in close cooperation with our European partners, escorted the Russian submarine Novorossiysk and the Russian tugboat Sergey Balk in the Bay of Biscay,” the regional prefecture said in a Twitter statement.
Details about the course of the marine means or other circumstances of the incident are not reported.
According to The Wall Street Journal, earlier Lithuanian helicopters escorted Russian trains to the Kaliningrad region, "fearing" for the safety of the Suwalki corridor.
