China News Service, May 19, according to the Associated Press, on the 18th local time, Massachusetts reported a case of monkeypox, the first confirmed case in the United States in 2022.

According to reports, the Massachusetts Department of Health said the adult man infected with monkeypox had recently traveled to Canada.
The department also said the case does not pose a public health threat and the patient has been hospitalized and is doing well.
The UK, Portugal and Spain have previously reported a small number of confirmed and suspected cases of monkeypox.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said it was reaching out to Britain and Canada to advance investigations into monkeypox cases.
However, there is currently no evidence linking the cases in Massachusetts to the monkeypox cases in the UK.
Most cases of monkeypox occur in Africa, and symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue and muscle pain.
