The Ministry of Health has announced the first case of monkeypox infection in Malta.
It is clarified that the patient is a 38-year-old man who recently visited one of the countries where outbreaks of monkeypox were recorded.
He has mild symptoms and is in self-isolation at home.
Earlier in Ireland, the first case of monkeypox was detected.
