At the beginning of May, Chahinez Daoud had been burned alive by her ex-companion in Mérignac.
A month later, two inspections carried out to shed light on the failures in the judicial chain after this assassination had pointed to a series of dysfunctions.
The Director General of the National Police (DGPN) decided to summon seven police officers before a disciplinary council, as part of the investigation into the feminicide of Chahinez Daoud by his ex-companion last May.
According to information from RTL, from which Europe 1 has been confirmed, these members of the security forces, including the Departmental Director of Public Security of Gironde, would be directly or indirectly involved in the breaches that led to the murder of the young woman. Tuesday May 4th.
A series of dysfunctions
In June, the conclusions of the two inspections carried out to shed light on the failings in the judicial chain after this assassination were made public. Chahinez's spouse, Mounir, had already been sentenced to 18 months in prison for domestic violence in June 2020. From his cell, the man had continued to harass his wife by mail and by telephone, before benefiting from an adjustment of sentence and release from prison, release of which Chahinez had not been notified.
If Chahinez filed a new complaint for violence on March 15, the police did not do everything to find the man who continued to intimidate his wife, according to the report.
The young woman also did not benefit from special protection after this complaint, while Mounir should have been arrested.
Last July, the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, promised sanctions "at all levels of the chain of responsibility".
