Execution of 9 defendants in the case of the "Kerdasa Massacre"

Today, Monday, the Prisons Authority in Egypt carried out the death sentence against 9 of the defendants in the case of the Kerdasa massacre, which took place in August 2013, after the announcement of the dispersal of the Rab'a and al-Nahda sit-ins, and the death sentence was executed in Wadi al-Natrun prison.

The Cairo Criminal Court had sentenced 20 defendants to death, between their presence and absence, in their retrial in the case of the Kerdasa massacre, which resulted in the killing of 14 members and officers of the Kerdasa police station.

The accused members of the "Brotherhood" stormed the police station after the announcement of the start of the dispersal of the Rab'a and al-Nahda sit-ins, armed with firearms and shells, and killed the warden of the center, his deputy, the assistants of the investigations, and 7 other secretaries and soldiers, namely, Major General Muhammad Jabr and his deputy, Amer Abdel-Maqsoud, Captain Mohamed Farouq, the assistant detective, and the first lieutenant.
