SVT News has mapped the death toll on the country's elderly housing during the most intense corona weeks. Among other things, we have been able to show which homes stand out, which regions are most severely affected and differences between municipal and private actors.

Karin Modig, associate professor of epidemiology at Karolinska Institutet, has, together with her colleagues, taken a closer look at total mortality in the spring and compared with an average for previous years. Their conclusions are broadly in line with SVT's survey.

- We see very clearly that from week 14 there is a clear death toll, she says.

Why look at excess mortality? And how can the pandemic affect life expectancy? Hear Karin Modig in the clip above.
