Munich (dpa / lby) - The lockdown in Bavaria will be extended until May 9th.

According to State Chancellery Chief Florian Herrmann (CSU), the cabinet in Munich agreed on Tuesday.

Otherwise, the current Corona Infection Protection Ordinance would have expired on Monday night.

The entry quarantine regulation will also be extended accordingly.

"The situation is still worrying," said Herrmann.

The incidence in the country is 160, compared to the previous week there are 100 percent more deaths.

In addition, the intensive care units are becoming increasingly busy.

In general, it can be observed that younger people in particular are more affected by infections.

Around five percent of all registered corona tests are currently positive, and the trend is rising.

The only bright spot is the positive development in vaccinations.
