Rottenburg (dpa / lsw) - After a large-scale manhunt, the police arrested a 43-year-old who is said to have seriously injured his partner in a Rottenburg apartment.

The police were able to arrest the man after a search with helicopters and dogs early Saturday morning, a police spokesman said.

According to initial investigations, he stabbed his wife with a knife on Friday morning, then called the ambulance and then fled.

He is being investigated on suspicion of attempted manslaughter.

The woman came to a clinic and was no longer in mortal danger on Saturday morning.

The 43-year-old should be brought before a judge at the weekend.
